Atul Gangwar holds a post-graduate degree of M.A. in Hindi Literature from Delhi University. Atul initiated his formal association with film world by establishing the Delhi University Film Appreciation Society in 1994 under active guidance of legendary producer-director Subhash Ghai.

His active career in media industry started with joining B.A.G Films under leadership of Ms Anuradha Prasad and Atul went on to direct several television series including ‘Lens Eye’, ‘Hit Thi Hit Hai’, ‘Ru-B-Ru’ and ‘Zaike ka Safar’. In a 20 year long journey Atul has been witness to the evolution of the media industry. He has been associated with a range of programmes, from film based entertainment to news and current affairs programming revolving around the Kashmir issue. He has produced infotainment programmes like ‘Adabi Cocktail’ and ‘Urdu Bazar’. Atul is also an on-screen personality. While at Sahara Television he worked as anchor/ presenter in election based satirical programmes like ‘Tau ki Khari Khari, ‘Shabda Baan’, ‘Chunavi Chai Ki Chuski, among others.
He has also created Event Properties like Aadbi Cocktail, Urdu Bazar, Gazal Nama and Sahaz Yoga Along with television, Hal is currently active in the field of writing and direction of films.
He is no stranger to the silver screen too. Atul has forayed in to writing and direction in cinema. He is directing and writing the story for the film ‘Jalebi Culture’ for Atul Pandey. His story has been adopted for the film Muawaza, starring actor Anu Kapoor. He is also working on the screenplay of ‘Who Killed Deendaya’ for National Award winner Ujjwal Chatterjee
Atul has written for Anu Kappor’s radio show ‘Suhana Safar With Annu Kapoor’ and written and directed the television series ‘Kisse Kamyabi Ke’presented by Annu Kapoor on Zee Business channel.
Atul Has recently written a 55-episode series for DD Kisaan.
He Served as the Jury member for Non- Feature Film Category of 66th National Film Awards and was the member of Selection Committee Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF).
Currently, Atul is engaged with stage play tiled Imam-e-Hind: RAM which is based on Valmiki Ramayan. He is the Producer and Creative Director of the play that will be staged in June 2020.
Along with this he has constantly been trying to contribute to the field of culture by promoting related activities and events. With this in mind Atul Gangwar conceived the idea of ‘Adabi Cocktail’ an event, to promote literature, art and music from a single platform. Its first chapter unfolded at Mavalanker Hall on 14 June 2015 in Delhi. Adabi Cocktail is a new experiment in the combined field of literature, art and music. Greats from all three the worlds took centre stage to showcase a confluence based on the works of Lt. Shri Nida Fazli. Ms Geeta Das from the world of art and young but very talented singers Shri Jazim Sharma, Ms Parul Mishra and Ms Malti Joshi along with great actor Padam Shri Tom Alter presented the works of Great Urdu poet Padam Shri Nida Fazli through paintings and lyrical rendering of album ‘Suno Tum’.
